Stavordale was established by Mike Moran, and is set amongst the back drop of the Stavordale Estate and Alfred'sTower between Bruton and Wincanton in Somerset.
The business was started in early 2016, and we have been amazed at how it's taken off. Offering Field Trial Training Days for groups and individuals, using our Simulated Driven Days in Somerset and Wiltshire, further afield we have offered Gundog Training Holidays in Exmoor, Somerset and Carmarthenshire. In 2017 further holiday venues have been made available in different locations and we have added to the Field Trial Training days some Gundog Workshops suitable for the puppy through to the older more experienced dog and handler.
Not forgetting the launch of Stavordale RAW, a dog food as nature intended it, providing a fresh meat diet for your dog. With all the ingredients sourced locally, supplemented by vegetables and special blends of herbs providing the vitamins and minerals to keep your dog in top form.
There's clearly a market for what we do, and we're delighted by the reception we've had. So to all our customers and team, thank you.
Mike
The Team
Mike Moran having bred and trained gundogs since 1991, has become a popular figure on the field trials scene, regularly competing in the IGL Championships.
For Mike, everything starts with his love for his dogs and the countryside. "Dogs are my life" he says " I can't imagine life without them and doing anything other than this. I'm simply not happy unless I'm surrounded by dogs, preferably in the middle of Scotland amongst fellow enthusiasts."
Keith Broomfield right from a young age has always loved dogs of any shape or size and then in 1989 he wanted to train his own dog. A Labrador puppy was bought through a local paper. It was the only one left, it was tiny and had a bent tail, but turned out to be very talented, unlike Keith! Things have moved on considerably now and Keith has made up numerous field trial champions and won the IGL Championships in 2011 with FTCH Kaliture Black Spruce.
It's a privilege to have Keith be part of the team, with his endless patience and bucket-loads of wisdom.
Lissy Seidel (MRCVS) Having worked for many years in conventional veterinary practice, she has steadily been developing her portfolio of complementary and alternative therapies alongside.
She has been feeding all her dogs raw for the last 12 years and has seen the dramatic effect on the dogs' health many times, both with her own and clients' dogs. She has a keen interest in athletes both canine and equine and in providing them with the right support to perform at their optimum.
Rob Wareham is the man behind the camera. He and his wife own two Labradors and a Jack Russell. His photographs populate the Stavordale Galleries and capture the essence and spirit of the relationship between man and dog.
